How the DMCA Process Works

  1. Submit a Takedown Request: Use our form or API to submit a DMCA-compliant takedown notice with required information.
  2. Review & Action: We review your request and, if valid, remove or disable access to the infringing content within 24-48 hours.
  3. Developer Notification: We notify the developer whose content was removed and provide them an opportunity to file a counter-notice.
  4. Counter-Notice Window: The developer has 72 hours to file a counter-notice if they believe the removal was in error.
  5. Resolution: If no counter-notice is filed, the content remains removed. If a counter-notice is filed, you have 14 days to file a lawsuit before we restore access.

Using External IP Protection Services

KidsBuild integrates with popular IP protection services. If you use one of these services, they can submit reports directly via our API:

  • DMCA.com
  • Red Points
  • Brand Shield
  • Other services with standard webhook support

Contact your IP protection provider to enable KidsBuild integration, or email ip@kidsbuild.com for webhook documentation.

Counter-Notice (For Developers)

If your app was removed due to a DMCA takedown and you believe this was in error, you can file a counter-notice. This requires:

  • Your identification and contact information
  • Identification of the removed material
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that removal was a mistake
  • Consent to jurisdiction
  • Your physical or electronic signature

You can submit a counter-notice through your developer dashboard or by emailing dmca@kidsbuild.com.

Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA, KidsBuild maintains a policy of terminating accounts of users who are repeat infringers. Users who receive multiple valid DMCA notices may have their accounts permanently suspended and be prohibited from using the platform.
